I've been enjoying some of my old favorites on YouTube lately. This is one of the 750,000 reasons why I love The Avett Brothers so much. Their constant covers & random YouTube videos. Enjoy!

Bangkok Part II.
While in Bangkok we made it a point to spend some time outside of tourist attractions. We hit up a flower market and another local market that I was obsessed with. It was hoppin because everyone was out buying their groceries for the day. It was a sight to see and overall Bangkok was a total success!

Bangkok Part I.
Bangkok was the bees knees. We did so much and it was all great. Luckily Bangkok is not too far from us. Its about the same as a drive from SLC to STG.
We went to the Grand Palace & it was pretty grand. Very touristy but for good reason. It was absolutely beautiful. The detail on the buildings was incredible. A zillion little mirrors everywhere. It was really hot though. Like REALLY hot. So we just stuck around long enough to check things out & got out of there.
We then went to the Reclining Buddha which is said to be one of the largest in the world but I hardly believe that statement anymore. Every time I go to a Buddha in Asia they tell me its the largest in the world. I don't know what to believe anymore but I do know its up there on the list.
We kept hearing this little clinking noise & could not figure out what is was. When we circled around the Buddha we saw that people were walking in a line dropping a coin in each of these little bowls. I'm not sure the exact symbolism behind it but it was neat.
We paid a guy a few bucks to take us around the city on his boat. This was by far my favorite thing we did while in Bangkok. It was so rad. We drove through these little river canals that snaked through peoples homes. We saw the cutest people. We even counted down for some baby monks to jump into the water. It was humbling and really cool.
We saw a rotten pig in the water.

We saw a handful of these terrifying creatures called monitor lizards. They were the creepiest. We even saw a few of them fighting.
We spent the evening hanging out on Khao San Road. Its super touristy but full of life, shopping & Mexican food. So I was obviously a fan. There is some weird stuff going on in Bangkok though. For those details talk to me in person...
They have the craziest & sketchiest power lines in Bangkok. We even saw one on fire & everyone was acting like it was no big deal.

Lastly here are the cute bunk beds at our hostel. We stayed at Coincidence Hub & Hostel. We really enjoyed our stay. Although I nearly got in a fist fight with some of the inconsiderate drunk gentleman in our room.
More about Bangkok to come...
