Monsoon.

Monsoon season has begun here in Thailand which means a lot of mellow days. I love it. A perfect combo of sun & beautiful warm rain. This also means time for me to rediscover happy things like this video. Enjoy!

Sukhoathai & The Mud Bath.

Yesterday we took a trip out to Sukhothai. It was really rad & hot. I'm all about ruins these days. Overall it was a feat. 

After our driver told us he would take us to a "waterfall". He then proceeded to take us to a really dirty river with a bunch of Thai people sitting around. Although there was no waterfall we were thrilled by what we saw. We instantly got our hands on some tubes & hopped in the water. We had seen one group of guys go down the river and decided that we should give it a whirl as well. No questions asked. Lets just say it was one of the funniest experiences of my life. It was the rockiest & sketchiest thing. A few of us flew off our tube and trust me it was painful. Liz was a straight rag doll in the water & looks like she got in a fight with a cheese grader.

 We were like celebrities for going down that thing. Everyone was taking pictures & laughing at us. A drunk guy even tried to come join us mid rapid. We may or may not have ran him over. We even made friends with some Thai folk who brought us food in the middle of the river. We also went down the rapids a few more times. Some attempts were more successful than others. It was one of my favorite things we've done since coming to Thailand. Long live that sketchy muddy river. 

Life At Hogwarts.

We arrived in Phichit just over a week ago. It has been blissful. The school is beautiful and was created in the image of Hogwarts. Although I must admit that it can get rather spooky at night. My room is big & awesome. They have spoiled us rotten since we've been here. Showed us all the best places to go & taken us to get the greatest food. Their hospitality towards us has been unreal.

Ello Elephants.

Hanging out with elephants was the highlight of Chiang Mai. We were able to feed them, love on them, ride them, slide down their trunks, bathe them, and just straight hang out all day. It was the coolest experience ever! 

Chiang Mai

Alright now for Thailand... I'll start by telling you that this country is beyond beautiful. I am blown away by how green & lovely everything is here. The food is unreal (everything is fresh), the people are SO kind & the culture is lovely. I am happy here. 

We decided that as soon as we got to Thailand we were going to check out Chiang Mai. We traveled for over forty hours straight and surprisingly it wasn't all that painful. When we arrived in Chaing Mai we instantly started playing. We did a lot of stuff during our time there. Here are just a few things... 

We went to the Tiger Kingdom.

Ate tons of delicious food & smoothies. 

Got multiple massages. Some were a very interesting experiences.  

Wandered all around the city. 

 

I held a spider.

Went to a little night market. 

Got a fish pedicure. Nothing tickles more. 

Went to some temples. 

Wen't shopping at the night bizaar & ate fresh cheap food. The cutest old man made me my favorite (massaman) curry.

We made friends with Kris from Germany & all went zip lining. We also had the honor of wearing funny hair nets. 

Hung out a little waterfall. 

Made friends with a group of Canadians who invited us to a Thai fight. We saw six years old fighting & many other things. 

We also rode elephants which was by far my favorite thing. So it deserves a post of its own. More to come.. Overall Chiang Mai was a total success!
