I've realized a lot of simple things lately. Most of those things have stemmed from the fact that my guy left & I moved to an odd place & I decided to be an idiot & wreck my car all within a week.
At first I felt super bad for myself. Bitter that life had dealt me a bad hand. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that life really can be mean sometimes. It was especially hard since I'd been living nothing shy of a dream life for the last eight months.
So here's Alexa feeling all sulky & what not but then I became aware of how blessed I really am! I realized how lucky I am that I have a guy to miss, an apartment full of my best friends to come home to & a car to be upset about damaging. With that I discovered how silly things like having to be patient, living in the hood & owing my insurance a lot of money are.
The days following my bad luck were full of neat experiences. By no coincidence I was surrounded by people who were in much harder situations than I. People with disabilities, lost love ones & deep heartache encircled me. My suddenly sour situation seemed not so sour.
Before Davis left on his mission he would constantly say to me "We're going be okay. No matter what happens, we're all going to be okay." It seemed to frustrate me at the time seeing as I just wanted us to feel bad for ourselves and the unfortunate timing we were placed in. Yet I've come to realize just how true that is.
The worst of situations end up being okay. ALWAYS. It might not be easy getting to the okay stage or as lovely as it could have been but its going to be okay. There's that quote that I'm sure you've heard & brushed off [like myself] a million times. Its goes something like "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay it's not the end." How beautiful it is that we always have an [at least] okay situation to look forward to.
So three cheers for everything being okay!
