My Whole Life Is A Delicate Cycle

I'm at it again. I can't sleep because I am SO excited for Christmas. I could give you a list of the one hundred things that I look forward to but you all know the drill. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Ask me how many times I have watched this video. A LOT. [Zooey doesn't even look too shabby as a blonde, that's skill.]
While in the winter spirit I think I will also buy this jacket.
Also, get a load of these. This is real life people.
And last but not least my booming excitement for Chrismas was taken to a whole new level thanks to She & Him's announcement about their holiday album. Goodnight!

The Day I Thought I Was Zooey Deschannel.

Two nights ago while lying in my room with Jess, a combination of boredom and sleep deprivation brought me to do an unsmart thing. [I also blame it on my timeless obsession with Zooey Deschannel and the blatant fact that she is my fashion icon.] I decided that I needed to cut me some bangs.. RIGHT THEN. No warning. Cold turkey. I have been itching to do such a thing for awhile but wasn't planning on doing it for a few months and/or until I was emotionally prepared for the consequences. Regardless I handed Jessica a pair of scissors and told her to cut a good eight inches off. Being the awesome friend that she is, she did just that. The results were a bit... disappointing. I tried the laugh instead of cry approach but that only lasted for a couple of hours. At that point I started saying absurd things such as, "They are probably going to tell me that they filled the position at my new job after they see my hair." "Well on the bright side this adds an extra two years onto my estimated wedding date" "Being told that my hair looks like Lloyd's off Dumb & Dumber was only a minor set back in my day" Etc. Etc. I have now come to terms with my new do. Well maybe not really but I'm done being overly dramatic. Word to the wise, impulsive behavior can be deadly. This picture is overly flattering, it doesn't actually posses this much charm.

I'd Rather Be Working For A Paycheck Than Waiting To WIn The Lottery

Time is passing far too quickly, last week seemed like two days. I finished working at the Adobe once and for all! My last day I walked out of there on top of the world. Thursday I went to the Bright Eyes concert and it was phenomenal! I've tried to establish my favorite song played but I can't. Bowl Of Oranges was delicious, Lover I Don't Have To Love was hot, Road To Joy was organized chaos and First Day Of My Life was a trip down memory lane. The set list was made in heaven and I left feeling overly satisfied.
A life without Conor Oberst is no life at all.

I don't know how I manage to cut off half of my face in EVERY classic concert picture we take, but it happens.

The travelin' crew at their finest.
So many people so little space. Hence unchartable drug, alcohol and excitement induced behavior up in that park. This young women was participating in the just mentioned behavior and was enjoying Rory's company a little too much. This is Rory whispering the lyrics in her ear.We spent a decent amount of time in the car on our trip. Including sleeping, you would be surprised how comfortable the trunk actually is. We also had the privilege of delivering an adorable kitten which we called Bright Eyes (in honor of Rise of the Planet for the Apes, which I liked a whole lot, and the concert). On a different note, today marks the two week period until I move to Orem. I take my stuff up at the end of this week. I spent the majority of the day yesterday packing up my life and if I learned one thing it's that I'm a hoarder. Some of the things that I had lying around were ridiculous. Yes, I am eighteen and just getting rid of the stuffed animals in my closet. Along with my childhood toys and every note ever written to me in middle school, I found a really cute collection of tattoos(that I apparently had been saving for a rainy day). Regardless of my efforts to eliminate clutter I may or may not be taking Princess Sparkles to college. Growing up is rough.
The feelings associated with moving are starting to get to me. There are so many people whom I love very, very, very, very, very, very, very much that I am going to miss more than words can describe. Between leaving them, learning not to use so much conditioner and teaching myself that a feast isn't in order every night it's going to be a big adjustment. One I hope I will be ready for when the time comes. In my time remaining here I'm determined to savor the sweetness this town has to offer. This weekend the fair was in town and attended by my pal & I. Holy long post. If you read this all the way through you must be a good friend of mine and you deserve an award!

You Gotta Be Kind To Yourself

Yesterday was rough. It was one of those days that makes you want to pull all of the hair out of your head. From the moment I woke up I couldn't catch a break. I spent roughly eight hours killing a massive army of bugs at work and I came home ready to kill someone. After about thirty minutes of "I hate the world mood" I realized how pointless my frustration was. I started making a list of all the wonderful things that had happened to me. For example my parents bringing me Durangos, receiving tips, finding the time to take a nap, hiking, watching the sunset, new music, shark week and much more. My sour mood suddenly sweetened. For some reason it took rude people, bad luck and bugs to help me realize how good I have it. I now aim to look at the good things and be kind to myself. Today I treated myself to a starburst smoothie, a sun dress, braid, candles and some piano. The eight bug bites are a minor detail. Happy weekend crew!

Janglin Soul

My week was sugary sweet. I have been in the best of moods lately and I'm all about it. As a result life has been throwing me splendid days. Especially the day I ate at park cafe, rode bicycles around SL,UT, napped at a park, scarfed a rolo mcflurry, went to a genius library and saw Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Mads explains some of the perks very well here. The concert was thee best. Alex Ebert has so much soul pumping through his veins. Any guy that leads hundreds of people in lean on me and flings himself into the crowd multiple times deserves a hats off. Not to mention everything he played and said was delicious. Seriously get a load of this guy! Excuse the movement, the atmosphere of the concert was a bit intense.

You're Hot Mess

I should be fired. I have been horrible at updating my blog and even more terrible at documenting my summer. Few pictures have been taken, which is a complete shame. I have established a new goal to be a picture taking fool in the upcoming month. The last few weeks have been eventful, here are a couple of things that I have done.
I went up north where I job hunted/interviewed like a mad man. I felt so old.

I have gone on numerous beautiful hikes with beautiful people.
I legitimately started working. It is a love/hate relationship but as of right now the Adobe and I are on good terms. This is us at work, feeling bad for ourselves and our matching zits.
I went to Pine Valley a couple of times with some of my friends, which makes me chipper because I love that place with every fiber of my being.
I received some unexpected flowers and although I am not much of a gift adoring girl, it was one of the greatest things and I was extremely flattered.

My sentimental radar has rocketed off the charts. I didn't think it was possible for me to become more emotional then I already was but boy was I wrong. I blame it on the changes coming soon, nothing but change.

I have developed a strange shopping addiction and a once hated activity has now become ever so appealing. Thank goodness I still can't spend more then ten bucks on something without feeling buyers remorse and am satisfied with the D.I. Here are the treasures of my last successful trip. The long awaited and last Harry Potter came out and I found myself in the theater on opening night at the midnight movie. IT WAS GENIUS. I loved it a whole lot and am not quite sure what to do with myself now that it's "over, over". HP super fan for life.

I turned eighteen. It's a lot of things but it's mostly like whatever. My actual day of birth was one of the best I have ever had. I spent the day with my favorite people, eating ALL of my favorite foods [I do not say that lightly] and participating in my favorite activities. I was spoiled by many and received several acts of kindness, free meals and cash. Yesterday was the day of all days, spent with Mr. Anderson. We started out the day by indulging in breakfast at Kneaders [which I was overjoyed about because I had been counting the days until that marvelous place opened] We then spent a couple of hours shopping for ukes. Later we drove to Vegas where we ate at The Cheesecake Factory. I'll tell you one thing raspberry lemonade, chicken alfredo and 30th anniversary cheesecake sure does make for a happy Alexa. The Avett Brothers concert was attended shortly after. It was amazing and made for an even happier Alexa. Seriously, I thought I was going to loose my mind when they played Kick Drum Heart and January Wedding. Depressingly enough my camera wasn't working and I didn't get any pictures OR video, but I will promise you one thing, it was one for the history books.

Moral of the story is my life has been good and continues to move along smoothly. I am a blessed girl and can only hope that things continue to go north!

It Happens To The Best Of Us

You know you're emotional when you receive an email from your father with this video and the words "this is how I feel" and you get choked up.
