Cha-ching

Oh hey! Its me again and boy has it been too long. I can't even begin to tell you all that has happened to me over the course of the last few weeks. It only seems logical to celebrate my official "joining" (In other words I'm now going to go instead of making up excuses) of relief society by enlightening you guys with what the RSers like to call GOOD NEWS MINUTE. Holy run on sentence. Take it or leave it.

-I officially finished a horrid book that I had to read for history. I highly recommend not reading it. Three words to describe it would be soft core porn. Just kidding but really it was a little risque sometimes. It's called When Jesus Came the Corn Mothers Went Away. If that title isn't the most charming thing you've ever heard I don't know what is.

-I had the opportunity to go back to St. George twice. I'm a softy I know. But seriously I become homesick easily and am convinced I have separation anxiety. I just really miss my family and blond headed friend. Yes, last time I arrived I found these pants which I purchased for myself. I guess I overestimated how quickly my freshman fifteen would kick in.

-I got a job, which is great! Bath and body works is the place. I'm mostly just excited that I get a discount on Victoria Secrets stuff as well. New underwear every month. Can I get a heck yeah?
-I'm getting a little bit better at cooking. Today I made pancakes and it only took me four tries. Look at the obvious improvement in the two snap shots pictured below.

-I am finally starting to warm up to this place. One of the perks is there is ALWAYS something going on. No lie I swear there is a party every single night. It's a good time.

-They have a flippin dollar theater up here. Which actually cost one buck instead of three. Monday nights its even a whoppin seventy five cents. I may be a little obsessed, which would explain why I held a photo shoot of the theater. Also I promise my bangs don't always look that dumb and if they do I like to pretend they don't.

-I discovered the indoor climbing joint of my dreams. I can't wait till I have money and time can go errryday.

-A handful of my main bands have come out with new albums in the last couple months. Bombay's just happens to be the soundtrack of my last two weeks.

-I found my future wedding ring. This picture is a bit small and blurry but you get the idea.
I think that is all for now. Adios!

Town To Town.

So I'm sitting in the library where I should be doing homework but instead I am listening to music that makes my heart hurt and feeling alone surrounded by TONS of people. Awh the beauties of moving. I would also like to share that I am anti-love these days. I feel like Tom on Five Hundred Days Of Summer in the fact that I want to yell "get a room" to everyone I see holding hands. I know I should be happy for them and it's really no big deal but I just feel like they should be wallowing with me. It's even tougher because everyone up here is on the prowl, it makes me sick. Hence I wear my hair in a ponytail everyday and refuse to shower. Greasy hair, don't care. But hey I promise I am having some fun and absolutely love going to class and maybe I don't even mind doing homework that much. NERD STATUS FO SHO. These pictures were taken last night while Jess & I were basking in our poor self hygiene. Day three no shower. Yummy.

Here Is The Church, Here Is The Steeple.

The thought of blogging has been extremely overwhelming to me but I suppose that is to be expected considering all the change that has taken place in my life the last three days. To cope with the stress of sharing this vast amount of knowledge, I am going to make a list. One that could very well bore many of you but it is what it is. The following events are in chronological order.
  • I said a series of incredibly hard goodbyes, shortly after making my way to Orem.
  • I unloaded my enormous amounts of stuff. [I didn't think I had a lot of clothing but after filling my closet, drawers, shelves, an extra rack and two shoe racks I realized that I might have a bit of a problem.]
  • I broke a handful of important things and about lost my mind.
  • I attended my first day of school and I will tell you one thing. I LOVE COLLEGE.
  • So many bros, so little time. It cracks me up and all the girls look the same.
  • Remember that one time that I joked around about getting "unhired" from my job. Well that happened. For some reason that is beyond me they decided to fill the position that they promised me they would reserve for me.. Every single week since the beginning of July. So that was a major bummer.
  • Jessica & I installed the Internet router in our apartment. [After three hours].
  • My roommate is genius and makes us food fit for a king.
  • I found out that hipsters can be professors too.
  • I may or may not have a crush on my English professor. I simply dig that he was wearing tevas, jeans, a suit coat and glasses. I kind of want to pull an Aria/Ezra with him. Too bad he is married and that is gross and weird. Plus when I checked his Facebook I discovered he used to have dumb hair.
  • As of today I think I'm going to be able to make it up here. Maybe even enjoy it a little bit.

I promise I have done a lot more but it's late and Jess & I are watching 24 in OUR apartment. Mostly just doing grown up stuff and recuperating from all of our math homework and peach cobbler. Pictures will be posted soon and maybe when I develop a social life I will have stories to share. Farewell.

My Whole Life Is A Delicate Cycle

I'm at it again. I can't sleep because I am SO excited for Christmas. I could give you a list of the one hundred things that I look forward to but you all know the drill. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Ask me how many times I have watched this video. A LOT. [Zooey doesn't even look too shabby as a blonde, that's skill.]
While in the winter spirit I think I will also buy this jacket.
Also, get a load of these. This is real life people.
And last but not least my booming excitement for Chrismas was taken to a whole new level thanks to She & Him's announcement about their holiday album. Goodnight!

The Day I Thought I Was Zooey Deschannel.

Two nights ago while lying in my room with Jess, a combination of boredom and sleep deprivation brought me to do an unsmart thing. [I also blame it on my timeless obsession with Zooey Deschannel and the blatant fact that she is my fashion icon.] I decided that I needed to cut me some bangs.. RIGHT THEN. No warning. Cold turkey. I have been itching to do such a thing for awhile but wasn't planning on doing it for a few months and/or until I was emotionally prepared for the consequences. Regardless I handed Jessica a pair of scissors and told her to cut a good eight inches off. Being the awesome friend that she is, she did just that. The results were a bit... disappointing. I tried the laugh instead of cry approach but that only lasted for a couple of hours. At that point I started saying absurd things such as, "They are probably going to tell me that they filled the position at my new job after they see my hair." "Well on the bright side this adds an extra two years onto my estimated wedding date" "Being told that my hair looks like Lloyd's off Dumb & Dumber was only a minor set back in my day" Etc. Etc. I have now come to terms with my new do. Well maybe not really but I'm done being overly dramatic. Word to the wise, impulsive behavior can be deadly. This picture is overly flattering, it doesn't actually posses this much charm.

I'd Rather Be Working For A Paycheck Than Waiting To WIn The Lottery

Time is passing far too quickly, last week seemed like two days. I finished working at the Adobe once and for all! My last day I walked out of there on top of the world. Thursday I went to the Bright Eyes concert and it was phenomenal! I've tried to establish my favorite song played but I can't. Bowl Of Oranges was delicious, Lover I Don't Have To Love was hot, Road To Joy was organized chaos and First Day Of My Life was a trip down memory lane. The set list was made in heaven and I left feeling overly satisfied.
A life without Conor Oberst is no life at all.

I don't know how I manage to cut off half of my face in EVERY classic concert picture we take, but it happens.

The travelin' crew at their finest.
So many people so little space. Hence unchartable drug, alcohol and excitement induced behavior up in that park. This young women was participating in the just mentioned behavior and was enjoying Rory's company a little too much. This is Rory whispering the lyrics in her ear.We spent a decent amount of time in the car on our trip. Including sleeping, you would be surprised how comfortable the trunk actually is. We also had the privilege of delivering an adorable kitten which we called Bright Eyes (in honor of Rise of the Planet for the Apes, which I liked a whole lot, and the concert). On a different note, today marks the two week period until I move to Orem. I take my stuff up at the end of this week. I spent the majority of the day yesterday packing up my life and if I learned one thing it's that I'm a hoarder. Some of the things that I had lying around were ridiculous. Yes, I am eighteen and just getting rid of the stuffed animals in my closet. Along with my childhood toys and every note ever written to me in middle school, I found a really cute collection of tattoos(that I apparently had been saving for a rainy day). Regardless of my efforts to eliminate clutter I may or may not be taking Princess Sparkles to college. Growing up is rough.
The feelings associated with moving are starting to get to me. There are so many people whom I love very, very, very, very, very, very, very much that I am going to miss more than words can describe. Between leaving them, learning not to use so much conditioner and teaching myself that a feast isn't in order every night it's going to be a big adjustment. One I hope I will be ready for when the time comes. In my time remaining here I'm determined to savor the sweetness this town has to offer. This weekend the fair was in town and attended by my pal & I. Holy long post. If you read this all the way through you must be a good friend of mine and you deserve an award!

You Gotta Be Kind To Yourself

Yesterday was rough. It was one of those days that makes you want to pull all of the hair out of your head. From the moment I woke up I couldn't catch a break. I spent roughly eight hours killing a massive army of bugs at work and I came home ready to kill someone. After about thirty minutes of "I hate the world mood" I realized how pointless my frustration was. I started making a list of all the wonderful things that had happened to me. For example my parents bringing me Durangos, receiving tips, finding the time to take a nap, hiking, watching the sunset, new music, shark week and much more. My sour mood suddenly sweetened. For some reason it took rude people, bad luck and bugs to help me realize how good I have it. I now aim to look at the good things and be kind to myself. Today I treated myself to a starburst smoothie, a sun dress, braid, candles and some piano. The eight bug bites are a minor detail. Happy weekend crew!
