And There You Have It Folks.

Its that time again. [Four in the morning to be precise.] When I grace you guys with one of those thrilling catch up posts. I will try to be brief but here goes nothing..
-I went to St. George & my mom made sure that our Christmas decorations were up just so that I could get a taste of the holidays. So cute of her.
-I went to a wedding & I liked the dress I was wearing
-We carried out our usual family tradition and made gingerbread houses. Even though it was before Thanksgiving.
-Twenty five mains hot chocolate is to die for and I have not lost my love for their banana cupcakes either.
-David & I went to Pine Valley. He took me to a perfect spot, then we gathered a plethora of firewood, then we ate a picnic that he made for us (he even included water from first water springs which I thought was neat), then he played the guitar & sang me some songs, then we laid in the hammock while it rained like mad. It was real fun.
-I spent my first Thanksgiving in nineteen years away from my family, it was tough but still a good one.
-I got a new toy.
-I couldn't stop listening to that old American Pie song. Reminds me of road trips with the family when I was a kid.
-I was really sad when David left on his mission. I especially miss snapchating him twenty four seven. He sent me these two pictures right before he left and told me to look at them everyday. He also said "Remember Alexa, when you reach the top of the mountain, keep climbing. I read that in a geocache logbook once." How wise.  It's funny because we did not even become good friends until just recently but he is still missed. To my surprise he sent me a letter last week and I was really excited!
-I went & saw Isaac Russel & Joshua James again. Joshua is the smallest man in the world. But they never disappoint. Oh and I was in the company of Rory Mellor's twin. I wish the pictures did him justice.
-I went to The Killers & Tegan & Sara. They were both super good! I was wayyyyy excited when Tegan & Sara played Living Room because its one of my favorites and not a very popular one.
-Christmas spirit crept into the air and I've loved every minute of it. I've gone up to Salt Lake many a times and done all sorts of Christmas activities. On one occasion Casey & I went to Zoo lights and we got evacuated. I'm pretty sure that wild animals were escaping and it was awesome.
-Every time I go to the Nickelcade I get a fake tattoo without fail. This last time we decided to take a picture of our classiness. People started tripping thinking we actually got tats. Silly rabbits.
-Casey & Jeremy left sweet notes on my car while I was at work. I thought that was very nice of them.
- I got in some good last minute biking and hiking while the weather was still decent.
-Lately I really love the snow.
-I was really sad when Casey moved & slipped into a 24 hour slump. Things are looking up though don't worry.
-There was this day where Jessica & I went to a buffet & then played video games. We were shortly put into a food coma. Also look how cute my parents are.
-Bangkok grill is one of my new favorite places & snow art is super cool!
-I'm homeless, so that should be pretty interesting.
I'm loosing my enthusiasm for this post so I must bid you a do. Except a much more punctual Alexa when it comes to blogging. Later days!

Kicking Up The Dust.

There are so many things changing in my life and I'd love to let you in on a few but I'm overwhelmed by the thought of it. Instead I will share with you a video I haven't gone a day without watching since I stumbled upon it last week. Life is beautiful.

Cash Money Honey.

I should be writing a catch up post but my analytical mind won't allow it. I watched a movie the other day on Miss Mckelle Boren's blog and instantly fell in love. I enjoy it because it expresses so many ideas that I constantly ponder on. It amazes me what an impact money has on our lives. We dedicate an unbelievable amount of our time [often doing things we hate] just to make money. Working at a financial institution I have been able to see the impact that money has on peoples lives. I have seen people break down in tears of sadness or even joy simply because their financial situation is not where they would like it to be. Others will desperately try to manipulate people in order to gain money. It's such a shame. It is not that I judge these people for their actions its just that I find it so upsetting that we let money hold so much control over our lives.

When I explain to others what I want to go into the often looked at me puzzled. As if I'm not taking my career seriously. Perhaps I'm really not but the way I see it I am just working towards doing something I love. I also find it funny that the first question we ask when we hear about people's career choices is "how much money will you make?" Although a overly comfortable lifestyle is the dream it shouldn't be our biggest priority. I believe we should simply do whatever makes us feel happy & alive. Let us all remember this especially as we make important life choices. As Hemingway once said, "When you stop doing things for fun, you might as well be dead."

A Post About Snow & Stuff.

I can feel it creeping up on me again. This awful thing I call my "Winter Slump." Its happened every year for as long as I can remember. The sunshine fades and so does my normal perky self. Not to say that I become unhappy it's just my once chipper personality becomes glazed with an unfortunate type of glum. Jess has seen it the last few year & my mom says its because I can't be outside as much. Regardless I hate it. I made a goal in the summer to diligently work to avoid my winter blues and I intend to do so.
I'm loving the changes that are taking place all around me. Not only does the snow create a nice blanket of snow over the world but it also summons silence and creates an unbeatable sense of peace. I can't even tell you how many times I've drove up the canyon simply to turn around and head back up the moment I get home. Also, for the record don't even walk barefoot in the snow. It's unbelievably painful & not worth it.
So here's some snow stuff...

Panda Pow Wow.

There was this time when..
-David & I frolicked through the forest & then decided to shower in the beautiful waterfall. Mind you this was at night & it was really cold & there was snow on the ground & the water was even colder. It was a good decision though I promise.
-We went to the nickelcade. I was really happy that he liked it as much as I do. I rode a virtual roller coaster made for a six year old that made me sick & David won a ball with one of those claw things. Then we put all of our tickets together and spent them all on a bunch of Pandas to give to our best friends. I snap chatted a few pictures of those panda bears and then my coworkers stole one of them because I wouldn't call them "your majesty" every time I addressed them.
-Casey, David & I attended the Typhoon concert. It was fun. Kilby Court is a chill scene & we got free buttons. Typhoon fit eleven people on one itty bitty stage & I was impressed. Also for the record I enjoyed Laura Gibson more than Typhoon. I had a few of her songs previous to the show but I've been digging her stuff in a big way ever since I saw her.
-Of course we went to Cafe West after and then cut one another's hair. I gave David a strainer cut. [For the record if you have seen him since the hair cutting incident it wasn't me who messed it up.]
-Getting Snaps like this melt my heart.
-I'm diggin on the ghetto gangsta jams lately. The dance moves that have been happened during these two songs should be illegal.
-Casey & I boxed last night. Long story short he went straight ninja on me. Maybe I will post the video one day.
-I have mixed feelings about this video but I love the song.
-My hobo friend Dana impersonated Elvis in order to raise money for charity.Painfully rad.
-I've been doing creepy stuff in my sleep. For example screaming and perching on my bed and staring at my roommate and saying things like "Make her stop." or "I can't think of the word for what she is doing." Anyways I blame it on the scary movies.
-Lastly I'm really grateful for these two.
Farewell Darlings...

Catch Up With The Sunrise.

Oh hey its me again. I've been jazzed on life since the last time I wrote & here's why.

Halloween day was perfect.

I went to work & although they made me dress up, it was a fun day. It actually just ended up being an excuse to wear a hat & sandals. Oh & the old guy that calls me blue eyes came in again. They made us soup & the lady from sweet tooth fairy brought us enough cupcakes to feed a small country.
Later Sam's Mom had us over for soup & bread bowls that looked like pumpkins. Then we laughed a lot.

We wen't to the Insomnia & dressed up as risky business. It was funny the whole time we just kept saying I can't believe we are being those girls right now. But really who care. We came, we danced like mad & we had a good time. I'm thankful that my friends are as weird as I am when it comes to dancing. Also, some guys can be pigs.
Thursday is 80's. This week was especially fun. Pretty much I just kicked it with a Provo High crew that Sam knows. Those boys can dance. We boogied for four hours straight.Next time I go I'm recording our reaction to Come On Eileen.
I spent 7 hours dancing & 7 hours sleeping over those two days. It was a dream come true. When I woke up on Friday morning I was a straight dread head. I'm not kidding my once straightened hair had begun to form a handful of legit dreads. I wish this picture did it justice.
This video is really great.
I gave in and allowed myself to make a big upgrade. I guess technology isn't that evil after all.
Biking makes the world go round.
Scheels is cool & Sinister is fetching scary & this is a serious zoobmobile
You guessed it. I'm going to share some tunes. I've been really digging the classics. Especially this Crystal Castles song. Oh & believe it or not I'm all about that new Mercy song by Kanye. Also,I can relate to Daughter's songs more than I care to admit.

I'm all sorts of ready for Christmas. Since I don't get to go home for Thanksgiving [Poor me] I am just going to skip ahead to the next holiday. The holiday season really is the best time of the year & I am overly ready to bask in its life giving light.

Here are a few random photographs.
David Lloyd is a sweet angel & sent me a package out of the blue. The letter said "Dear Alexa, please be my pen pal. Also, enjoy these candy corns. With love, David." Have you ever heard anything more perfect? No.
I really hope nothing fun presents itself tonight because I just want to sit home & make bran muffins. Farewell lovers!
