Janglin Soul

My week was sugary sweet. I have been in the best of moods lately and I'm all about it. As a result life has been throwing me splendid days. Especially the day I ate at park cafe, rode bicycles around SL,UT, napped at a park, scarfed a rolo mcflurry, went to a genius library and saw Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Mads explains some of the perks very well here. The concert was thee best. Alex Ebert has so much soul pumping through his veins. Any guy that leads hundreds of people in lean on me and flings himself into the crowd multiple times deserves a hats off. Not to mention everything he played and said was delicious. Seriously get a load of this guy! Excuse the movement, the atmosphere of the concert was a bit intense.

You're Hot Mess

I should be fired. I have been horrible at updating my blog and even more terrible at documenting my summer. Few pictures have been taken, which is a complete shame. I have established a new goal to be a picture taking fool in the upcoming month. The last few weeks have been eventful, here are a couple of things that I have done.
I went up north where I job hunted/interviewed like a mad man. I felt so old.

I have gone on numerous beautiful hikes with beautiful people.
I legitimately started working. It is a love/hate relationship but as of right now the Adobe and I are on good terms. This is us at work, feeling bad for ourselves and our matching zits.
I went to Pine Valley a couple of times with some of my friends, which makes me chipper because I love that place with every fiber of my being.
I received some unexpected flowers and although I am not much of a gift adoring girl, it was one of the greatest things and I was extremely flattered.

My sentimental radar has rocketed off the charts. I didn't think it was possible for me to become more emotional then I already was but boy was I wrong. I blame it on the changes coming soon, nothing but change.

I have developed a strange shopping addiction and a once hated activity has now become ever so appealing. Thank goodness I still can't spend more then ten bucks on something without feeling buyers remorse and am satisfied with the D.I. Here are the treasures of my last successful trip. The long awaited and last Harry Potter came out and I found myself in the theater on opening night at the midnight movie. IT WAS GENIUS. I loved it a whole lot and am not quite sure what to do with myself now that it's "over, over". HP super fan for life.

I turned eighteen. It's a lot of things but it's mostly like whatever. My actual day of birth was one of the best I have ever had. I spent the day with my favorite people, eating ALL of my favorite foods [I do not say that lightly] and participating in my favorite activities. I was spoiled by many and received several acts of kindness, free meals and cash. Yesterday was the day of all days, spent with Mr. Anderson. We started out the day by indulging in breakfast at Kneaders [which I was overjoyed about because I had been counting the days until that marvelous place opened] We then spent a couple of hours shopping for ukes. Later we drove to Vegas where we ate at The Cheesecake Factory. I'll tell you one thing raspberry lemonade, chicken alfredo and 30th anniversary cheesecake sure does make for a happy Alexa. The Avett Brothers concert was attended shortly after. It was amazing and made for an even happier Alexa. Seriously, I thought I was going to loose my mind when they played Kick Drum Heart and January Wedding. Depressingly enough my camera wasn't working and I didn't get any pictures OR video, but I will promise you one thing, it was one for the history books.

Moral of the story is my life has been good and continues to move along smoothly. I am a blessed girl and can only hope that things continue to go north!

It Happens To The Best Of Us

You know you're emotional when you receive an email from your father with this video and the words "this is how I feel" and you get choked up.

Because I Can.

Five minutes ago while I was Skyping with Bailey I came to the conclusion that I am not going to be very tasteful about how much I post. Why? Because I don't care and because I have become an Internet junkie the last couple of days. So here goes nothing.
You should know that Baye and I have become extremely technologically savvy. Really its quite impressive. Our communication could go something like this.. I text Bailey telling her to check her HeyTell where she listens to a message I sent her telling her that I tweeted about her and that I want to Skype. We Skype each other for hours on end, all the while downloading ooVoo [a program similar to Skype] and stalking people on Facebook. We should be embarrassed, we should feel despondent about the fact that we are throwing all productivity to the wolves, but we don't. We eat this stuff up.
I have also been practicing the strangest of behaviors the last couple of days. For example running into poles, driving over curbs, feeling hopeless over nothing, retail therapy, saying bold things, watching depressing movies and calling people too often. Mind you I have been lounging in my room and taking pills religiously. I feel a bit lonesome and frankly everyone is either working or has better things to do then hang out with a crazed chubster. But enough of this sappy nonsense. I found some cool stuff throughout my days of Internet surfing.

Chipmunk

Just Friday I went in to see the doc in order to remove my wisdom teeth. My anxiety level was low, other then the fact that the women who greeted me had a mustache and I was horrified of what I might say to her after I was drugged. The first thing I remember after the procedure was my dad telling me that I had been a bit of a pain during surgery. He told me that I wouldn't breathe and that my blood pressure was all over the place. Who knows why but I felt extremely picked on and thought everyone hated me and was being so mean. When I got a hold of my phone the fun began. It wasn't long before everyone knew about the lady with "facial face", my yellow submarine smoothie, sitting on a brush and my imaginary pregnancy scare. I cried soo much. Day one I thought I was in the clear as far as chipmunk cheeks were concerned. Although I thought I had puffy cheeks in this picture, little did I know. I took this charming photo this morning. My face posesses a very square characteristic and I truly look like I have gained ten pounds. In all actuality I wouldn't be surprised if half of this isn't swelling but fat. All I have done is the last couple of days is eat ice cream, smoothies and watch red boxes. In other news today is Fathers Day, therefore my padre deserves a little shout out. He is a good man and I love him very much. Just last night he stayed up nearly all night with me while I curled up on his floor like a child. It takes a special person to do that. Happy Fathers Day!

Jumping Off High Cliffs

I am just full of all sorts of joy right now. Things are going splendid for me today! Here are some of the reasons why..
I'm stoked for the following movies to come out.
I ordered some tevas and got a killer deal.
I have been HeyTelling myself silly.
I still have friends.
Bailey Sargent told me that she had an elephant in her mouth.
I finally got a short summer job working at a frozen yogurt joint.
I found out that Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, The Weepies and Starf*****r are playing within a month of when I move up north.

Frozen Strawberries

Welp you are all in for another informative and story telling treat. My life has been too upbeat lately not to share! The past week consisted of Lake Powell & a nice trip to SL, UT with my friends. Meet the Lake Powell Crew. Don't be alarmed it was for the sake of Myspace.

I fell in love with McCall's tevas, a pair was quickly added to my birthday list. Bad news for the 7,000 boys who are after Baye. She is now off the market, this is her new boyfriend. I don't have it in me to explain to you the good times that we had but I have faith that you are all smart enough to figure out these pictures. Yes, those are pligs. We made a detour through Colorado City. I drove home from Powell a little early in order to make it up north in time. I listened to this song on repeat for an hour. It's a gem.

When I arrived home I took this adorable picture of myself, I think it demonstrates my energy level pretty well. The following individuals and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We attended a Iron & Wine concert and it was top notch. I recorded this video while we were there. This picture makes me laugh because it is ridiculously close to one we took at the Arcade Fire concert. My life is peachy!
