You & I Are Changing With The Seasons.

New year. New things. New experiences. I'm learning to be okay with and all by myself. It's the first time in my life that I have attemped to do this and so far it has been ever so rewarding. I'm also working on not forgetting to be happy now. I focus too much on what the future holds and often let the beauty of the present slip by. My extra effort to notice & appreciate the little things has made me a much happier person. In other news, I finished my 2011 Evolution play list a few weeks ago. Since last January I picked two or three songs every week that were describing my life. Lets be real, it's pretty amazing. Listening to it all the way through is like listening to the soundtrack of my year. 2012 is a year full of hope.

Guess Why I Smile? Cause It's Worth It.

 Hey, guess what?
If you have any sense of intelligence whatsoever you will watch to this video & love it. Then you will go download this song.
I simply had a wonderful Christmas time. Between the parties and kicking it with my family it was ever so lovely. I got spoiled almost to the point of guilt. I even got my uke & mini harmonica necklace!
I've established a new addiction for Diet Coke & it really just chaps my khakis because I don't even like soda. Yes, I'm drinking some as I type this.
I make Jessica play "airplane" with me regularly. If this picture isn't proof that I'm still a child I don't know what is. P.S. those are my grandma sweats that I thrifted for three bones & love with all my heart.
My darling friend Tori Anne is engaged! It's crazy because I feel like it was just yesterday that we were sixth graders staying up all  night playing Zelda & doing hood rat things with our friends. The following pictures were taken when I found out. My face in the first picture isn't a product of unhappiness but instead me feeling sad that I'm getting so flippin old. I then proceeded to pace around my house for an hour & panic about the fact that I still sleep with my baby blanket. The last picture is a better description of how I really feel about it!
I went on a few lunch dates and got my nails done. Like a real middle aged women.
I've watched Across the Universe & Sherlock Holmes, made Omish friendship bread and drank a starburst smoothie with this cute kid.
I've hiked myself silly. Every single day. No that is not a exaggeration.
I hung out with these two chaps. They are always a real pick me up. We tried to eat frozen pie with straws, it was a good time.

Tune in soon for more blabber.

Thank You Stranger For Your Therapeutic Smile.

Word on the street is it can be therapeutic to express yourself through writing. Seeing as I am an emotional volcano I fear the outcome of this post. Yet I will do my best to stay classy. Class: A superior type; especially, exhibiting admirable personal qualities. This "type" is one that I have noticed to be slipping from our world today. A lack of or complete absence of class has caused me to pose the question "Where'd all the good people go?"
Over the last week particularly I have been astonished and unimpressed by peoples actions. Disappointed would be an understatement and broken hearted sounds too kind. It's all too difficult, sappy and personal to explain but more then anything I feel concern for all those who are now experiencing, as well as those who are unaware or have yet to see how cruel circumstances really can be. I'm fortunate enough to be sheltered from so much chaos but in the last few months I have seen more hurt from death, confusion from drugs, hopelessness from crumbling marriages and heartbreak from deceivers then I have in my whole life combined. Why? Is a word that has plagued my mind during all this nonsense and I know I won't find the answer for a long time. In the meantime I just keep telling myself chin up buttercup and reading these two talks.
In other news. Everyone is getting married and It makes me realize how much I have left to do with my life before I decide to tie the knot.[Although right now I'm deeply considering joining a convent.] Maddi & I have already starting constructing plans for our big adventures & I'm pumped. Trust me when all your peers starting posting about pap smears and birth control on their blogs you will start freaking out too. Also, St. George is beautiful and the fact that I can't see my breath is stellar. Enjoy a few pictures and this song.
Bombarded by dancing singing men #Ilovecollege
Calling myself a pyro would be an understatement. #bonfire
Yes, I'm wearing my tevas, shorts & a tank top in the middle of December. #stglovin
It's such a perfect day. #afternoonrun

Please & Thank You.

OH HEY. It's me Alexa and right now I feel like I could spew a rainbow because I am so thrilled. Why you might ask? Well lets see..
- I am half way done with my finals & I got a 100% on my math final (which I put off studying for until last night). A seriously poor decision.
-I went to the worlds most dashing art museum on Saturday and later rode a giant moose.
-My bangs are finally sorta kinda starting to swoop to the side. It's heaven.
-On Friday I survived being sandwiched by two cars on the freeway. Jessica's car on the other hand wasn't so lucky, nor was my neck.
-In less than four days my feet will be sinking into STG soil.
-I'm obsessed with French again & am most likely going to enroll in a class next semester. C'est jolie
-I walked into my apartment the other day & was greeted by a brand new flat screen & Xbox. I started hyperventilating. It's fine really.
-Last but not least I have been laughing at everything lately, to the point where it's almost painful. The picture below produced an enormous amount of laughter. (Props to Jess for discovering Severus Franklin)

Eskimo Kiss

Holy flip. Finals week is going to be the death of me. I've been asked if I have OCD or ADHD three times this week. I just can't concentrate and I still can't function properly (even though I found out days ago) due to the fact that Bombay announced an America/Canada tour. I only mentioned it on all my social networks like ten times. Also, I don't know why nobody told me that Coldplay's new album contained gems like this one until this week.

Lions & Tigers & Bears Oh My.

It's been one of those weekends from heaven & I just want to share my love. Shortly after the basketball game Friday night I had the biggest adventure of my life. I know words wont do it justice but I'm going to give it a stab anyways. Basically after a sketchy two hour drive we arrived at the snow covered Spanish Fork at 12:00 a.m. We embarked onto an icy trail in nothing but our swimsuits and a light sweats. Expecting a one mile hike we were surprised when our journey to the hot springs took almost two hours. Upon arriving I quickly learned that sulfur is seriously rank and smells like rotten eggs. The actual hot springs were heavenly but when we got out I've never been so cold and my hair was literally icicles. The hike back was so scary that we all stopped and prayed. The trail was covered in ice and I don't say that lightly. Every single member of our ten person group fell/ slide down hills at least twice. It was insane. I felt like I was an Eskimo the whole time, even a little bear grylls status but maybe that's just because it was four in the morning. While shimmying across a cliff on a tiny iced over path I've never said so many prayers or been more scared in my life. Little did I know that at this time we were also being followed by a cougar. We all made it out without any injuries, there is a god. When I arrived home Mr. Reggie Gates was sleeping on my bed. It was the most random thing of my life. My sleep deprived self let him sleep on the other side of my bed but only under the condition that he promised not to touch me. It was all too strange. Awesome picture I know but it's the memories that count.

The next day The Red Iguana, Temple Square and The Gateway were all attended. I will tell you one thing SL,UT is beautiful this time of year.
Today was filled with friends, Harry Potter, unbelievable amounts of food and Christmas festivities. Jessica & I are elfs, it's fine really.

The Optimist Died Inside Of Me.

I need to start blogging more because I get seriously overwhelmed when I go to do so. I've done all sorts of pleasant things lately and faced things that I never thought I would have to deal with. I decided November was a month from hell but as I type this I see nothing but a bright future. In the last few weeks..

I put up Christmas decorations in our apartment. Tis the season!
I went cuckoo at The Kooks. They were lovely, the crowd was phenomenal and the dancing was overly enjoyable. It was a night to remember and I established a new love for their latest album. Success.

I found some neat graffiti on my daily stroll.

I learned that regardless if you think the world of someone, they may not be as awesome as you thought they were. Relationships are messy & people's feelings get hurt. It's not always wise to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I went to St. George & spent quality time with my friends and family. Thanksgiving was great. I got to be a classic American and watch football with my pa, play with my puppy, have a superb time running in heaven sent weather and hang out with my favorite people.

I attended an Indian dance ceremony & had the honor to dance along.

Fall's gift to me. A freakishly large leaf.

I saw Twilight with my old pal Reggie. Tears formed in my eyes twice. Once when Iron & Wine played during the wedding and another time when the wolves were talking, those were tears of laughter.

I went to Cowboys & Indies and had the time of my life. I seriously don't know if I will ever be able to see Eye Lips Eyes at a non dancing venue ever again. Also I made friends with the lead singer of a band I like a whole lot called Timber! Its no big deal really we are even facebook friends and all that jazz.
That's all for now. It is better to look up!
